Barbara J. (nee Sams) Schorr, 71, of Cincinnati, OH passed away peacefully on October 2, 2026, under the care of Hospice of Cincinnati. 

Barb was born April 15, 1955, in Cincinnati, OH to Ernest D. Sams and Margaret L. (Henry) Sams. She graduated from Ohio University and began her career in purchasing at VelvaSheen. She then served as a dedicated stay-at-home mom before returning to the workforce as an Accounts Payable Clerk at Lenscrafters.

On September 27, 1980, she married Donald E. Schorr and together they shared 46 wonderful years together. Barb was a proud and guiding mother to her three children – Jennifer, Mark, and Laura. Barb was also active in her role as a loving aunt to several nephews, followed by her great-nieces and nephews. She was known for her active participation in the church choir and her love of reading and crafts. Above all, Barb was a devoted mother who built her life around caring for her three children. She is survived by her husband, Donald; her children, Jennifer C. Schorr, Mark D. Schorr, Laura K. (Jason) Winters; and 1 grandchild; brother David A. (Nan) Sams. She was preceded in death by Ernest D. Sams and Margaret L. Henry Sams. 

In her final quiet moments, her devoted husband was by her side, holding her hand.

The visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 7 from 4:00p-7:00p at Thomas Justin Memorial, 7500 Montgomery Rd. (45236) Kenwood.

The funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 8 at 1:00p at Madeira Silverwood Presbyterian Church, 8000 Miami Ave. (45243) Madeira.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Cincinnati.
