Benjamin "Ben" William Turner

Benjamin (Ben) William Turner, age 16, of Mariemont, died unexpectedly on June 13, 2017.  He was the beloved son of Charles (Chip) Turner, much loved little brother of Laura Elizabeth (Ellie) Turner and grandson of Mrs. Tom (Ardith) Aldrich. Ben was preceded in death by his mother Merilee Black Turner. He is also survived by his birthmother Amanda Kaplan, numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.  Ben was born in Highland Park, Illinois, and lived in Glen Ellyn, Illinois, where he went to St. Petronille's school until 2009, when his family moved to Mariemont.  He had many friends from his years at Summit Country Day School and Mariemont schools.  Ben had just finished his sophomore year at Mariemont High School. He was a member of St. Gertrude Catholic Church.

Ben was an avid sports enthusiast from an early age.  He excelled in golf, baseball and basketball, and he recently completed his first season on Mariemont’s varsity golf and baseball teams.  He also played on a travel baseball team that won the Cincinnati CABA Tournament last year and was coached by his dad.  In addition, Ben always enjoyed singing and was a member of the Mariemont High School Chorus.   Our hearts are grieving that Ben was taken from us so young and far too soon. We will always miss Ben’s incredible hugs and his sweet smile.  He was dearly loved and will be missed very much by his family and friends in Glen Ellyn and Cincinnati.

Ben’s visitation will be held Tuesday, June 20th from 3:00 pm – 8:00 pm at Thomas-Justin Memorial, 7500 Montgomery Road, (45236).  Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Wednesday, June 21st at 9:30 am at St. Gertrude Catholic Church, 6543 Miami Avenue, (45243). Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to ProKids, 2605 Burnet Avenue, (45219) (www.prokids.org).
