Devoted husband to Marilyn and loving father of Christy Gillenwater (Brad) of Bloomimhton, IN and Tony Schlake (Allison) of Lexington, KY,beloved grandpa of Thomas Gillenwater, foster dad of Juanita Fath, brother of Frank Schlake (Anna), and son of the late Frank and the late Anna Schlake. Passed away Saturday May 21st amongst family members. Bernie passed away after a year-long battle with metastatic cancer at the age of 65 years. Bernie was the founder of Ridge Engineering Companies and he was a beloved employer to his devoted team of employees. Visitation will be Wednesday May 25th from 10am until time of funeral service at 12 noon at the Thomas-Justin Memorial 7500 Montgomery RD. Burial will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the Diocesan Catholic Children's Home, P.O. Box 17007, Ft Mitchell ,KY 41017 and The point?ARC of Northern Kentucky, 104 W. Pike.,
