COOK, Bruce A., beloved and devoted husband of Betty (nee Kellen), cherished and inspiring father of John (Marlene) Cook, Tom (Michele) Cook, Geri (Jim) Alder and Connie (David) Laug, loving and playful grandfather of Sarah (John) Lytton, Patrick Cook, Jeremy (Teisha) Gates, Sarah (Jake) Mayfield, Alex Cook, Zak Cook, Brian (Cathy) Alder, Angela Alder and Peter Laug, and eight great-grandchildren. He is also survived by Tom (Gail) Cook; Bob (Gloria) Cook, Don (Janice) Cook, Connie (Chuck) Gerber and many special family and friends across the country, and beyond. A graduate of the University of Illinois with a degree in mechanical engineering, Cook began his career with the Trane Co. where he assumed increasing responsibility over the span of nearly 50 years, retiring as President of Trane's Cincinnati Commercial Division and owner, Cook-Trane Service Agency. Dedicated to service above self, Cook has been an active member of Rotary since 1969. He served as President of the Cincinnati Rotary Club, as District Governor for the region and on the Board of Directors for Rotary International. He received the Spirit of Life Award from the City of Hope in 1993. Irish wake and visitation will be held on Friday, October 10th from 5-7PM at Thomas-Justin Memorial, 7500 Montgomery Rd. (45236). Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday, October 11th at 9:30AM at St. Gertrude Parish, 7630 Shawnee Run Rd. (45243). Entombment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to The Rotary International Foundation, 14280 Collections Center Drive, Chicago, IL 60693.
