Charles R. Scherer

Charles R. Scherer passed away on June 30, 2022, at the age of 77. Beloved husband of Mary (nee DiPietrantonio) for 51 years; cherished father of Matthew (Devon), Nicole (Mark) Hosking and Michael (Sarah); loving grandfather of Adalyn, Caleb, Emmett, Logan, Tatum, Leia and another grandchild on the way. Preceded in death by parents Charles J. and Ruth, sister Phyllis (Brian) Aspinall and brother Richard (Rosemary). Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Chuck attended Withrow High School, was a proud graduate of the University of Cincinnati, and served in the Army National Guard. Chuck loved his family, baseball, the ocean, old cars, music and a good joke. He coached youth baseball and was an avid walker upon his retirement from Butternut Bread after 35 years. He spent his last years battling dementia but was surrounded by love at the time of his passing. Visitation will be held on Friday, July 8, 2022, from 11:00am-1:00pm at Thomas-Justin Memorial, 7500 Montgomery Road, Cincinnati, OH 45236. Burial to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
