Christin Angela Popp Spurr passed away on July 14, 2026. She is survived by her loving husband of 32 years, Thomas H Spurr III, daughters Elizabeth “Libby” Spurr of Cincinnati and Caroline Spurr of Boston, MA, her mother, Janet L Popp (late Charles L Popp) of Cincinnati as well as her sister and brother-in-law, Loretta Popp Wittman and Jeff Wittman of Lynchburg, VA, and her niece Claire Wittman Rooney of Richmond, VA.
Christin was born to Charles and Janet Popp on November 1, 1960, in South Bend, Indiana. After moving from South Bend, Christin lived with her family in Greenwood, Indiana and Clarksville, Indiana. She graduated from Clarksville High School in 1979 before heading to Oxford, Ohio to attend Miami University where she was a member of Tri Sigma sorority. She graduated from Miami with a B.S. in Finance in 1983 and subsequently moved to Cincinnati. She held various positions in Finance, Accounting, and Controllership primarily in the defense industry while obtaining her Master of Business Administration from Xavier University. Upon finishing her MBA, she decided to pursue a life-long dream: attending law school. She graduated from Salmon P. Chase College of Law at Northern Kentucky University in 1993 where she was a member of Moot Court and Law Review and was a published Law Review author. She loved practicing law with a small general practice firm in Newport, Kentucky, now Morgan Smith Porter in Covington. She married her husband in 1994 and retired from the full-time practice of law after the birth of the first of her two daughters.
Christin loved cooking, entertaining, traveling, live theatre, and spending time with family. She enjoyed dining out, shopping, and spending time every year in her beloved “low country,” South Carolina. Sports were a big part of her life, especially college basketball (you can’t take the Hoosier out of the girl) and football. Christin was an active volunteer in her girls’ schools, her beloved church, St. Gertrude, and various community groups including Junior League of Cincinnati and serving as President of the Cincinnati Alumnae Panhellenic Society.
Visitation will be Sunday, July 19th from 12pm-4pm at Thomas-Justin Memorial and Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, July 20th at 9:30am at St. Gertrude Church. She will be buried in Saint Mary Cemetery and Mausoleum.
