Daniel A Luning 79 of Cincinnati Ohio passed away unexpectedly on July 9, 2026. Born on December 23, 1946 in Cincinnati Ohio. Dan was the loving son of the late Anthony H and Marian (Fitzpatrick) Luning. Beloved brother to the late George M Luning who passed away September 2021. He is survived by his sister-in- law Mary Anne ( Lamps) Luning, sisters; Nancy Hengesbaugh (Chris) Mary Anne Gehring (Bob), and brother Tom W Luning (Kate). Beloved uncle to many nieces and nephews. Dan was a graduate of Moeller High School in 1967 and the University of Cincinnati College of Applied Sciences in 1971, where he was awarded a silver medal for best Architectural Design. After graduation, Dan began Electrical employment with ILSCO corporation. However he fulfilled his dream of having his own Electrical Contracting business in 1971 and formed DAL Electric. Dan was a member of the National Association of Lighting Maintenance Contractors, and a member of the Illuminating Engineering Society, Cincinnati Chapter. Dan’s hobbies and enjoyment included his work, Astronomy, Music, Photography, Old Movies, Juicy Fruit Gum, spending time with family, Travel, Science Fiction, Ice Cream, Hamburgers and French Fries. Dan was a man of faith and attended regular Sunday Mass at St Peter and Chain’s Cathedral in Cincinnati. A date is pending for Dan’s celebration of life memorial mass at St. Gertrude’s Catholic Church in Maderia, Ohio. In lieu of flowers please send donations to American Cancer Society or St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
