Darlene P. Ohr

Darlene P. Ohr (née Burch), beloved wife of Roy K. Ohr, Sr., cherished mother of Roy K. Ohr, Jr. (Denise), Timothy Ohr, and Matthew Ohr (Jennifer), passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, April 6, at the age of 83. 

Darlene was the loving sister of the late Harold Burch and Helen Edelen and surviving brother, Larry Burch. She was the devoted daughter of the late Howard and Thelma (née Schuneman) Burch. She was born in Cincinnati in 1942. Darlene met the love of her life, Roy, at a Lutheran youth outing. They shared 61 years of marriage, building a life centered on family, faith, and enduring companionship. She was a proud and devoted grandmother to seven wonderful grandchildren, cherishing every moment spent with them. 

Darlene found joy in simple, meaningful pursuits—sewing, crocheting, and knitting while listening to her favorite radio and TV programs. She also treasured time spent catching up with friends and family, always valuing connection and conversation. 

Friends are welcome to visit with the family on Friday, April 10, from 11:30 AM until the time of the funeral service at 12:30 PM at Thomas-Justin Memorial, 7500 Montgomery Rd. (45236), Kenwood. Interment will immediately follow at Spring Grove Cemetery. 

Darlene had a deep passion for putting books into the hands of young readers, both within her family and in the broader community. In her memory, donations may be made to the Scripps Howard Fund for Childhood Literacy.
