E. Elaine Moore

June 30, 1934 — June 2, 2025

Beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother and aunt Ester “Elaine” Moore (nee Benjamin) was born on June 30, 1934, in Kingston, Jamaica to the late Moses F. Benjamin and Ruby Benjamin (nee Dumont). At the young age of 6, after losing her mother, she went to live with her grandparents in Panama. There she gained an exceptional education attending private schools.


It was in Panama where she met and fell in love with James Moore whom she married in 1954 and proceeded to move to Ohio to start a family. She and James had three sons: James Moore, Kirk Moore, and Paul Moore. She was preceded in death by her cherished sons Paul and Kirk, her brother Abraham and his wife Dawn. She leaves behind her son, James Moore, her daughter-in-law Mary Jo, grandchildren, Stephanie Peacock, Sarah Lui and Paul Moore, Jr., Sarah’s husband Robert, her great grandchildren Este Peacock and Drea Dickie, her nieces and nephew, other family and friends.


Elaine had a career as the assistant to Neil Armstrong at the University of Cincinnati as well as to Dr. Arthur Ammann, the head of AIDS Pediatrics at the University of California.


Elaine passed away on June 2nd at the age of 90.

There will be a celebration of life Mass at The Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Montgomery, Ohio on Wednesday, June 11th at 12 noon. Interment will immediately follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest with her sons Paul and Kirk.


* For the many family members and friends who are unable to attend, the Church will live stream the service beginning at 12:00pm.
