Elizbeth Louise "Betty" Oenbrink

Elizabeth “Betty” Louise Oenbrink, 92, died December 14, 2017 at Wesley Commons Tree House Apartments in Greenwood, SC.

Born in Cincinnati, OH, she was the daughter of Henry Joseph and Florence Louise Petermann Oenbrink. Betty graduated from Regina High School in 1943 and from the University of Cincinnati with a degree in Business Administration in 1949. She was an avid Reds fan.  Betty was retired after 25 years as Personnel Manager from Western and Southern Life Insurance Company of Cincinnati. After retirement she volunteered over 500 hours at Bethesda Hospital. She enjoyed singing in the choir for 25 years at Nativity and later at St. Gertrude Catholic Church. Betty moved to S.C. the last 4 years of her life to be closer to family and was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church

She was the dear sister of Philip Oenbrink (Mary) of Beaufort, SC and the late Henry (Marcy) Oenbrink and Thomas Oenbrink. Other survivors include six nephews, Father Michael J. Oenbrink of Hilton Head, SC, Thomas Oenbrink (Chyrl) of Charleston, SC, Stephen Oenbrink of Beaufort, SC and Thomas O Williams of Madeira Beach, FL, Mark Oenbrink of Cincinnati , and Ken Oenbrink (Shelley) of Plano, TX,  six nieces, Christine Marchant (Richard) of Winter Haven, FL, Ann Sealy (Dave) of Greenwood, SC, Beth Bosserman (Mark) of Columbus, IN, Melanie Ferretti (Frank) of Columbia, SC, Barbara O. Williams Patai of Centennial, CO and Kathy Rodocker (George) of Cincinnati  and many great nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held Thursday January 4, 2018 from 6 to 7 PM, Vigil from 7 to 7:30 PM at Thomas Justin Funeral Home, 7500 Montgomery Road, (45236). Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday January 5, 2018 at 9:30 AM at St. Gertrude Catholic Church, 6543 Miami Ave. (45243) with Father Michael J. Oenbrink officiating. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to the St Gertrude Priory for Dominican Priests, 6543 Miami Ave., Cincinnati, OH 45243 or to your local chapter of the V.F.W.
