Gerald “Gerry” Baggs

Gerard James Baggs (Gerry) 61, passed away quietly at home surrounded by loved ones and in the care of Hospice Wednesday, August 31, 2022. Gerry was born March 24, 1961 in Cincinnati, Ohio, son of William Thomas and Joan Betty Capp Baggs.

Gerry grew up and attended school in Cincinnati, graduating from Moeller High School, class of 1979.

Gerry loved dogs, music and selling (anything). A “salesman until the end” Gerry sold everything from t-shirts and cars, to his resort getaway properties in Cumberland, Kentucky.

Gerry is preceded in death by his father, William T. Baggs (December 3, 1926 – August 19, 2012 ) and his brother Michael W. Baggs (September 24, 1957 - July 14, 2022).

Gerry is survived by his wife Barbara Spencer Baggs of Newport, KY, mother, Joan Betty Baggs of Cincinnati, OH., stepson Jesse Spenser (wife Shelley) and grandchildren Bryan, Dean, Jordan, and Jenna, brother, Thomas (Marti) Baggs of Jacksonville, FL., and sisters Margaret Baggs (Kirk) Fast of Ozawkie, KS., Patricia Baggs Rettig of Cincinnati, OH., Mary Baggs (Garnell “Clyde” Higgins) of Cincinnati, OH., nieces Meredith Rettig (Ashby) Smith of Flagstaff, AZ., Elizabeth Rettig (fiancée Chris) of Cincinnati, OH., and nephews Christian Fast of Lawrence, KS., and Benjamin Fast of Omaha, NE and Declan Hogan of Cincinnati, OH.

Visitation will be Tuesday, September 6, 2022 from 11am – 1pm. Memorial service will be immediately following at 1pm.

There will be a gathering of family and friends immediately afterward at Cambridge Arms Apartments.
