Irene Mary (nee Benken), 85, beloved wife for almost 60 years of the late MSgt Joseph Terbeck, passed away peacefully January 5th following a brief illness. Devoted mother of Joe Jr. and proud grandmother of Marie Elena (Dan) Menyes she leaves behind a host of those who loved her including helpmate Kris Yakura, caregiver Ted Bryant and her great friend since childhood, Marge Osborn. One of six children, Irene was preceded in death by twin Brother Irwin and older brother Richard. She is survived by sisters, Virginia Wahl, Joan Reeves and Marilyn Frush and sister-in-law Pat Benken, as well as a plethora of nieces and nephews. While Irene had been left partially paralyzed by a debilitating stroke at the young age of 24, she lived a full and active life, traveled widely and never lost her faith and kindness. She will be missed by all who knew her. Visitation will be held on Monday, January 12th from 11AM until the time of Mass of Christian Burial 12Noon at St. John the Evangelist, Deer Park.
