James W. "Jim" Early

James Walter Early, 81, passed away quietly on December 11, 2018 in Cincinnati, Ohio.   Jim was born in Corbin, Kentucky on September 24, 1937 to Ran Early and Blanche Alsip Early.  He attended school in Corbin Kentucky and afterwards enlisted in the United States Army, where he became the first recipient of surgical screws in his ankle which gave him full range of motion and enabled him to lead a life free from limitations.

Jim was also a retiree of the Ford Motor Company, Sharonville, Ohio plant for 36 years.

He is preceded in death by his parents, sister Ruby and brothers Herbert, Loyd, Clyde, Coyt and is survived by his brother Robert Lewis of Kettering, Ohio.

Beloved husband of Marilyn K. Carr Early and the late Joyce P. Lovitt Early.  Father of Kathy Lynn Early (deceased), Carol A. Steidle (Dan), Linda Gilton.  Stepfather to Michele Petry.  Grandfather to Bradley Steidle (Julia), Katie Steidle, Brett Steidle and Kelly Gilton, Hazel Napier (Chris), Nick Lee (Jessica).  Great grandfather to Grayson, Ainsley and Landon Steidle, Emma Mullins, Kolby and Kolton Lee.

An avid gardner, he enjoyed growing vegetables, especially tomatoes.  He loved listening to country music and sharing his love of old movies with his grandkids.  He also loved playing videogames, especially Donkey Kong.

He was a spirited, compassionate man and hardworking.  He had an infectious smile and a twinkle in his eyes.

The grandkids also enjoyed his willingness to play outside and teaching them the joys of collecting stuff in your garage.

He will be greatly missed.
