James V., 76, passed suddenly, yet peacefully surrounded by his family on Friday, September 3rd. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Jeanette Heath (nee Wolterman) and was a devoted father to Nancy Heath-Taylor, John (Lisa), David (Terry), Michael (Barbara), and Douglas (Susie) and the late James J., a devoted grandfather to 17 grandchildren and great-grandfather of one great-granddaughter. He is also survived by his daughter-in-law Bethany. Jim was a native Cincinnatian, a graduate of Roger Bacon High School class of 1952 as well as a graduate of the University of Cincinnati College of Pharmacy and the Salmon P. Chase College of Law. He began his career as a pharmacist and went on to become a prominent trial attorney for 44 years. Jim served in the U.S. Army at Walter Reed Army Medical Center and later played baseball for the U.S Army. Jim's love of soccer was instrumental in bringing the game to Cincinnati. He was a player, coach and organizer for all levels of the game including recreational, high school, college and professional. Jim was an animal lover and represented the Humane Association of Warren County. Family will receive friends Thursday, September 9th from 4:00 - 8:00 PM, at Thomas-Justin Memorial, 7500 Montgomery Rd. (45236). Mass of Christian burial to be held on Friday, September 10th at 11:00 AM at St. Philip the Apostle Church, 944 East U.S. 22 & 3, Morrow (45152). Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Donations may be made in Jim's honor to the Humane Association of Warren County,230 Cook Rd. (45036) or the charity of donor's choice.
