Jo Ann Ruff

Jo Ann (nee Coen) died May 16, 2025.

She was born August 1, 1935, to Layton Coen and Corinne Muir. She is survived by her husband, Bob, for 61 years, son Joel (Melissa, Bruce, Christopher), daughter, Emily Stiens (Doug, Tyler, Kate) and many nieces and nephews. She was raised in Bowling Green, Ohio, attended Miami University and taught a fourth-grade class in Norwood View for seven years. It was the beginning of the space age in 1957 with much interesting teaching material available. Jo Ann belonged to Pleasant Ridge Presbyterian Church for over 50 years, where she taught Sunday School. Jo Ann was noted for her macaroni and cheese, blueberry buckle, Christmas cookies, valentine parties and sharing a good book with a friend. She enjoyed volunteering for an emergency assistance center for over 40 years. Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 31st from 9:30AM until the time of the funeral service, 10:30AM at Pleasant Ridge Presbyterian Church.
