Joan Katherine Doggett, beloved wife of the late Arnold “Junie” Doggett, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Tuesday, September 9, at the age of 90.

She was the proud and loving mother of Ken (Danette) Doggett, Susan Sullivan, and Richard (Kathie) Doggett; an extremely devoted and caring grandmother to Ali (David) Knadler, Lydia (Steven) Couture, Nathan Doggett, Connor (Dani) Sullivan, Kevin and Ryan Sullivan, and Luke and Lainey Doggett; and cherished great-grandmother of Graham and Piper Knadler. Joan was preceded in death by her dear sister Jean Wrublewski, her beloved grandson Kevin Sullivan, and her loving parents Frank and Marian Wrublewski. She is survived by several loving nieces and nephews as well as a dear sister-in-law.

Joan grew up in Sedamsville, on Cincinnati’s West Side, and attended Our Lady of Perpetual Help Grade School and Seton High School. She began her career as a secretary at CG&E, where she met the love of her life, Arnie. They were married on May 26, 1962, and made their home in Madisonville, on Cincinnati’s East Side. Together, they raised their three children and built a life filled with faith, family, and friends.

Joan treasured her “Card Club,” a special group of friends she first met at CG&E, gathering monthly from 1956 until 2016. She also enjoyed her work as a teacher’s aide at Cure of Ars, a clerk at Werner Pharmacy and later as a secretary in the Alumni Office at Purcell Marian High School.

She found great joy in supporting her children’s and grandchildren’s activities - whether at sporting events, Girl Scouts, or school celebrations. Her most cherished moments were time spent with family. Vacations at the beach were a favorite family tradition, creating lasting memories. Joan especially loved and excelled at her role as “Grandma,” a role she embraced wholeheartedly, later adding the blessing of “Great” to her title.

Known for the light in her eyes, the love in her heart and her awesome hugs, Joan’s Catholic faith was central in her life. Joan was devoted to attending daily and weekly Mass and praying the Rosary. Two of her favorite saints were St. Anthony and St. Francis. She was active in parish life as a lector and a member of the Bereavement Committee, remaining dedicated through parish consolidations from St. John Vianney to St. Margaret of Cortona, and later St. Anthony, continuing to form new friendships along the way.

During the last phase of her life, Joan was a resident of Deupree House and Deupree Cottages. There she enjoyed classes, clubs and social events and new friendships flourished. The people she met there were not just residents, staff, or caretakers, they were her extended family. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
