It is with deep sorrow and much love that we share the loss of Lawrence Lee
Buescher of Blue Ash, Ohio on Saturday, April 18, 2026, after 83 wonderful years.
He was an adored son, brother, husband, father, grandpa, great grandpa (by the
lake), and great-great grandpa who passed away peacefully at home with his wife by
his side.
He was born May 31, 1942, in Detroit, Michigan, and resided in Blue Ash, Ohio for
most of his adult life. He went to St. Saviour grade school and graduated from Purcell
High School in 1960. He retired from Ford Motor Company after 42 years of
dedicated service.
Larry, a devout Catholic, faithfully attended the 4 p.m. Saturday Mass at Good
Shepherd Church. He was a doting husband who always put his wife first and was
often comforted just by holding her hand. He had a deep affection for his enormous
family, enjoyed spending time with them, and loved nothing more than cheering on
his grandchildren at their numerous sporting and school events. This was also a man
who treasured his lawn and delighted in mowing and taking care of his property even
during the winter months with his much-beloved snow blower. A man of both integrity
and stubbornness, once when he made up his mind to do something, there was
nothing he couldn’t accomplish.
Larry found joy in watching sappy romance movies, Broadway musicals (especially
Les Misérables), Anne of Green Gables, and old movies from ‘back in the day.’ He
enjoyed music and loved our long-standing family tradition of singing Christmas
carols off key every year. He cherished having monthly lunches with his brothers and
sisters where they caught up on each other’s lives. He was a family man through and
through and was happiest when surrounded by his loved ones. His kindness toward
others and his big-hearted nature were a true testament to his amazing character.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 36 years, Linda Buescher; his children:
James (Irene) Jemison, Michael (Sue) Jemison, Daniel (Andrea) Jemison, Thomas
(Jill Norris) Jemison, Donald (Sue) Buescher, Rodney Buescher, Susan (Chris) Robb,
Christina (Craig) Coffman, Sheri (Tony) Mackzum; his grandchildren: Mary, Katie,
Robby, Tracy, Kim, Mikey, Daniel, Becky, Laura, Tom, Michael, Patrick, Paul, C.J.,
Jayne, Marley, Griffin, Connor, Noah, Nathan, Jack, and Henry; his 30 great
grandchildren; his 2 1⁄2 great-great grandchildren; his siblings: Betty Hendricks,
Robert Buescher, Terry Bragg, and Anthony Buescher; his numerous nieces and
nephews; and his dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Virgina Buescher, his wife,
Kathleen Buescher; and his siblings: Joseph Jr. Buescher, Thomas Buescher, Ronald
Buescher, Nancy Mattes, Daniel Buescher, Shirley Buescher, and Wayne Hendricks.
Larry’s presence will be sorely missed, especially his snarky comebacks, joyous
laugh, his humorous and caring phone calls, his cheers from the sideline, and his
wisdom especially when it came to fixing or building things. We let go of a remarkable
husband, a loving father, a doting grandfather, and a kind soul. As we mourn his loss,
we also celebrate the love, joy, and kindness that were the absolute essence of
Larry’s being.
A visitation will be held from 8:45 – 9:45 a.m. at Good Shepherd Church, 8815 E.
Kemper Road, Cincinnati, OH, 45249 on Tuesday, April 28, 2026. A funeral Mass will
follow the visitation at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow Mass.
The family will receive friends at Schuler Community Room at 11532 Deerfield Road from 12:00 – 3:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, please donate in Larry’s name to Breakthrough T1D to support
finding a cure for Type 1 Diabetes or to a charity of your choice.
