Margaret Eileen, “Meg”, age 88, passed away peacefully December 19, 2016 at Bethesda North Hospital with her family in attendance. Beloved wife of 68 years to Frederick V. Crall. Loving mother of Frederick V. (Kathy) Crall, Jr., MD of Cincinnati, David D. (Susan) Crall, DDS of Pittsfield, MA, and Jane Crall Shaffer (Timothy Marquand) of Manhattan, NY and Old Snowmass, CO. Cherished sister of Mary Snyder (Prescott, AZ) and Helen Filiaggi (Uniontown, PA). Devoted grandmother of Molly (Jonathan) Light, David Crall Jr., Scott Crall, Kristen (Timothy) Burke, Brooks Shaffer, Will Crall, Julie Crall, Jessica Crall, and Charles Crall. Also survived by 3 greatgrandchildren and many devoted godchildren. Valedictorian of her high school class, Meg served as private secretary to US Congresswoman Frances Bolten and US Congressman Edward Sittler before starting her family. Known for her smile, spirituality and grace, she had lifelong love of learning, writing, and teaching, particularly the tenets of the Catholic faith, which she shared enthusiastically with her RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) students at St. Gertrude’s in Madeira for 21 years. Visitation from noon until the 1 PM Memorial Mass on Saturday Jan. 14, 2017 at St. Gertrude Church, 6543 Miami Ave, Cincinnati, OH. Memorials are suggested to the Sisters of the Sacred Heart of Mary (Attn: Sister Kathleen Murphy) 50 Wilson Park Drive, Tarrytown, NY 10591 or alternatively to Kavli Institute for Brain Science, Columbia University, 1051 Riverside Drive, Unit 87, NY, NY 10032.
