Margaret Nickum

NICKUM Margaret E. "Peg" (nee McKeown), beloved wife of the late Robert H. Nickum, cherished mother of Janet (Scott Bruno) Nickum, Peggy (Chris Dye) Nickum Dye and the late Nancy Schmit. Devoted grandmother of Christian Schmit, Casey Schmit, Megan Blazek and Sarah Sally, great-grandmother of Kelcey "KJ" Sally and Jada Sally. She is also survived by sisters-in-law, Eileen McKeown and Mildred Sack as well as her son-in-law David Schmit. Margaret was preceded in death by 13 siblings and was the last surviving child of Mary Evangeline (nee Curry) and Irish immigrant Patrick McKeown. She grew up on Baum St. in Mt. Adams and attended St Xavier grade school and Notre Dame 6th Street where she graduated valedictorian of her class. Margaret was a volunteer at Good Samaritan Hospital and a member of the Guild for over 35 yrs. Mrs. Nickum passed away on Tuesday, September 20th at the age of 90. Friends are invited to gather with her family on Monday, September 26th at 12Noon at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 11000 Montgomery Rd. (45242) in the chapel for a committal service.
