Margaret “Pegge” Schuermann

Pegge Schuermann (nee Raleigh), beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on June 4, 2026 at the age of 82. 

Throughout her life, Pegge was devoted to her family, her faith, and her community. A longtime parishioner and dedicated volunteer, she generously shared her time and talents with St. Antoninus Parish, Mercy High School, and St. Gertrude Parish. Her commitment to serving others touched countless lives and reflected the kindness and compassion that defined her character.

Above all, Pegge cherished her family. She was the loving wife of Ron and the proud mother of four children. Her greatest joy came from watching her family grow, and she treasured her role as grandmother and great-grandmother. Family gatherings, celebrations, and simple moments together brought her immense happiness.

Later in life, Pegge discovered a love for golf and became an active member of Kenwood Country Club. Whether on the course or enjoying time with friends, she embraced the game with enthusiasm and a wonderful sense of camaraderie.An avid reader, she rarely missed an opportunity to enjoy a good book, tackle a crossword puzzle, or join in a favorite game with family and friends. She especially looked forward to spending winters in Naples, Florida, where she created countless memories with loved ones.

Pegge was also a passionate sports fan. She faithfully followed her beloved Cincinnati Reds through every season, celebrating the highs and enduring the lows with unwavering loyalty.

She will be remembered for her generous spirit, her dedication to her family and community, her quick wit, and the love she shared so freely. Her legacy lives on in the many lives she touched and in the family she cherished so deeply.

She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Ron; four children, Jennie (Ernie) Gilbert, Ron (Marcie) Schuermann, Sandi Schuermann, and Tricia Gandhi; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and 10 siblings and their spouses.

She was preceded in death by her loving parents, Harry and Margie Raleigh; one brother, Mike Raleigh; and four siblings-in-law; Barb Raleigh, Bob Kerns, Mary Raleigh, Jerry Schuermann; and her in-laws, Al and Rita Schuermann.

Visitation will be held on Monday, June 8, 2026, from 8:30-9:30 a.m. at St. Gertrude Parish Center, 6543 Miami Road, Cincinnati, OH 45243. Mass to immediately follow. Burial to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 11000 Montgomery Road, Cincinnati, OH 45249.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to Hospice of Cincinnati or by mail, PO Box 633597, Cincinnati, OH (45263-3597).
