Marjorie “Marge” (nee Barrett), passed away on Saturday, April 21, 2018 at the age of 90. She was the wife of the late John Carroll for 56 years. The loving mother of Connie Carroll (James) Stanzak and Linda K. (J. Michael) Smith; the sister of Phillip (Valerie) Barrett of Kansas City, MO: grandmother of John Stubbers, Annie Smith, Kathy K. Carroll and the late Chris Carroll and great-grandmother of Alison and Matthew “Mac” Carroll. Her exuberant love for people of all ages and walks of life gave her family the gift of an understanding Mother and Grandmother, as well as legions of close friends.  Education was her mission in life.  She was a trustee of William Woods University, Fulton, Missouri, for 33 years. Marge co-authored a history of William Woods describing its growth from a small 2-year college to a fully accredited 4-year university.  She was a proud member of P.E.O. for 31 years. A philanthropic education organization, P.E.O. helps women attain higher education through generous loans and scholarships.  She was active with Armstrong Chapel for almost six decades. If desired, memorial may be sent to William Woods University, 1 University Ave., Fulton, MO (65251) or Armstrong Chapel UMC, 5125 Drake Rd. (45243). She will be missed deeply by her family and countless friends.  Visitation will be held at Armstrong Chapel UMC, on Saturday, April 28, 2018 from 1:30PM until the time of the Memorial Service 2:00PM.  A reception will follow.
