Mary S. (nee Stephens), beloved wife of Dale E. Barnes for 47 years. Cherished mother of Lyndsay (Jeremy) Pearson and Ryan Barnes. Proud Mimi of Jacob and Lucas Pearson. Loving sister of Robert (Kay) Stephens and Jamie Carmichael. In 1946 Mary was born to James and Mary Stephens in Lexington, KY. Upon graduation she attended Eastern Kentucky University where she was one of the founding members of the Epsilon Phi chapter of Alpha Delta Pi Sorority. After EKU Mary moved to Cincinnati, OH where she worked for the Hamilton County Welfare Department and later in life sold residential real estate in the Cincinnati area. She was very involved in her life, serving as an officer of the Cincinnati chapter of the National Organization for Women during the 1970’s, and was an active member of Kindervelt. She enjoyed her Book Club and loved playing golf as a member of the O’Bannon Creek Golf Club. She also enjoyed spending the winter months with her family in Naples, FL. Mary passed away on Tuesday, August 24th at the age of 75. Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 29th from 2-5PM at Thomas-Justin Memorial, 7500 Montgomery Rd, (45236). Another visitation will be held on Monday, August 30th from 10AM until the time of funeral service, 11AM at Armstrong Chapel UMC, 5125 Drake Rd. (45243). In lieu of flowers, you can make donations to the Polycystic Kidney Disease Foundation (PKD Foundation), Kindervelt, or a charity of your choice.
