Mary Kathryn “Kay” Susshine (nee Sack)

January 26, 1953- May 25, 2025

Kay was born and raised in Pleasant Ridge, Ohio. She was born to Anne (Miller) and Robert Sack. She attended Nativity School and then later Regina High School and the University of Cincinnati.

Kay was the devoted wife of Joe Susshine for over 48 years. Together they raised three children, Katie (Sean) Kestler, Stephanie (Rob) Gage and Joey Susshine, who preceeded her in death, all in Pleasant Ridge. She was the loving sister of Connie Wanstrath (nee Sack) and Doug Sack. She was an adored grandma to Ella, Clara, Abby, Emmett and Henry as well as a loving aunt to many nieces and nephews.

She spent her career as a dental hygienist dedicated to the same practice(s) where she grew to know and love her patients. Many of them became close friends and she even stayed in contact with some after her retirement.

Kay loved to garden and enjoyed growing vegetables from seed in her house and then moving those outside to a small vegetable garden where she would t end to them everyday. She often shared that love of gardening with her grandkids. One of her very favorite places on Earth was when they took their annual trip to Northern Michigan where the family would vacation each July. She found so much peace and happiness on those vacations.

The family will receive friends and family on Friday May 30, 2025 from 10:00 until the time of Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 at Nativity of our Lord Parish, 5939 Pandora Ave, Cincinnati OH 45213.
