Nadine C. Shende

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Nadine Cossette Shende, our wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, friend and neighbor, on Thursday, June 11, 2025, after a long battle with cancer.

Nadine was born November 27, 1964, to Neville & Stella Shende in Winnipeg, Manitoba, where she attended St. Mary’s Academy and University of Manitoba to study Vocal Music.

After moving to Cincinnati, Nadine taught private voice lessons for over 20 years at the Musical Arts Center and at Walnut Hills High School where she had a positive impact on the voices and lives of hundreds of students.

Nadine also sang for over 30 years as lead soprano with the Saint Cecilia Choir at masses, funerals, and weddings. It was not uncommon for parishioners to turn around to look up in amazement to see the source of the beautiful voice rising up to the heavens.

Nadine loved to travel and enjoyed trips to Europe, Egypt, Latin America, as well as several cruises. She was a wonderful wife and mother, and her companionship, conversation, and cooking will be dearly missed.

Nadine is survived by her parents Neville and Stella Shende, Allen Buchman, her husband of 32 years, her children Cossette (Shashvat), Bradley, and Chantelle, as well as her three brothers, Greg (Colleen), Neville (Dawn), and Brad (Janna), as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

We are comforted to know that Nadine has joined the eternal choir and is singing with the Angels in the presence of our Lord and will be part of the welcoming committee when our time comes to join her again.

We are deeply grateful to the staff of Christ Hospital Oncology department and the entire team of angels at Hospice of Cincinnati who showed us the truest meaning of compassion and respect.

Visitation will be at 10am Thursday June 19th at Saint Cecilia Church with mass to follow at 11am. Memorial donations can be made to the Hospice of Cincinnati, 4360 Cooper Road
