Richard "Dick" Maurer

MAURER

Richard E. (Dick), beloved husband of Joyce Ann (nee Birkmeier), passed away on the 65th anniversary of their marriage. He was 86 years old.

He is the cherished father of Gary (Kim Huskey) Maurer and Karen (Ryan) Parker, and the devoted grandfather of Megan and Monica Parker and Lily and June Maurer.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilbur and Ruth (nee Hopper) Maurer and his brother, John A. Maurer.

Mr. Maurer was a graduate of Withrow High School and The University of Cincinnati.

He served in the 237th Cavalry in the Army Reserve as a tanker.

Starting at Cincinnati Bell as an installer, he went on to work as a rates and revenues manager, retiring after 35 years. Dick enjoyed several years as a member of the Vineyard Golf Course staff in retirement and continued to play there well into his eighties.

His family will be planning a Celebration of Life Service in the next several weeks.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to Cincinnati Children’s Hospital.
