STAGGE
Rita Christine Stagge (nee Becker) affectionately known as "Rita Rae", preceded in death by her beloved: husband Nicholas James, and two sons, Nicholas James Jr. and John Barrett. Rita was the cherished mother of Tina (Russ), Mark (Sarah), Tony (Sandy), Joe (Kimmie), Julie (Vic), Maria (Tim) and Angie (John's wife). In addition, twenty people were proud to call her Grandma and another twenty were just as proud to call her Grandma the Great. She adored each and every one of them. Rita was considered by many to be "Mother to All", welcoming neighborhood children into her home as if they were her own.
Though she devoted most of her energy to her children, Rita was considered to be a talented singer, having a particular fondness for Frank Sinatra and Liza Minnelli. What is perhaps her single favorite song "Cabaret" most beautifully expresses her outlook on life. "What good is sitting all alone in your room..." She would love for you to listen to it when you can.
Rita was a loyal Catholic who deeply wanted everyone to share in her faith. While she will be sorely missed, we are confident her love of God and love for others transcends her presence here on earth and is equaled by her love of family.
