Robert J. (Bob), passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on October 16, 2012. Bob was born April 5, 1919 and was raised on a farm in Southeastern Ohio. Bob served in the Pacific Theater in World War II as a Navy Lieutenant on a Destroyer Escort. After his discharge from the Navy in 1946 he accepted a position at the Veteran's Administration in Columbus where he met and married Margie in 1948. He is survived by his loving wife Margie and five children: Molly (Bruce) Vollmer, Christina McCarthy, Kathy (Rick) Maxwell, Kevin (Mary Ellen) McCarthy and Sheila (Steve) Bandy. He is also survived by eight grandchildren: Brian and Colleen Maxwell, Katie, Alyssa and Kevin McCarthy, Jr., and Patrick, Ryan and Sean Bandy; three great-grandchildren: Jake and Max Vollmer and Liam Fildes. Bob was the Founder of Modern Office Methods in 1957. Bob and Margie loved to travel. They visited over 60 countries and six continents. They loved water sports and traveling with their children and grandchildren. He was a strong supporter of education. Bob was a member of Kenwood Country Club, St. Gertrude Catholic Church, St. William Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, Yacht Club and Royal Poinciana Golf Club. He has been a resident of Naples, FL since 1984. Friends may call at the Thomas-Justin Memorial, 7500 Montgomery Rd. (45236), Sunday, October 21st from 5-8pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, October 22nd, 9:30am at St. Gertrude Catholic Church, Cincinnati, OH. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bob's memory to The Athenaeum of Ohio or to The Dominican Foundation, 141 East 65th Street, New York, NY, (10065) and be designated for Dominican Novices, E. African Dominican Missions, or South Pacific Dominican Missions (Bishop Cardone OP).
