Robert Anthony Pope, beloved husband for 59 years to Jean Ann (nee Rinaldi) Pope. He was preceded in death by his cherished daughter, Tracy Pope Holden. Loving father-in-law to Keith (Kelly) Holden and devoted grandfather to Grace and Nicholas Holden and Brendan Schoening and Meghan (Ethan) Bulen. He was also the dear brother of Richard (Eileen) Pope, and uncle to Steve (Missy) Pope and Jeffrey (Linda) Pope and great-uncle to Riley, Avery, Derek and Finley Pope.
Robert was born in Cincinnati on October 8, 1942, to the late Robert and Edith Pope. He was a graduate of the Cincinnati Police Academy and went on to serve with the City of Cincinnati Police Department for 29 years, retiring in 1992 as a Lieutenant.
He started a second career as the Director of Security with Western Southern Life. He was also served on the Board of Directors for the Cincinnati Police Federal Credit Union serving as President.
He was a member of the O’Bannon Creek Golf Club in Loveland, OH and the Tara Golf Club and Country Club in Bradenton, Florida.
Bob was a devoted family man. He had a passion for automobiles and never turned down an opportunity to play a round of golf.
Robert passed away on Saturday, June 6th at the age of 83.
Friends may visit with his family on Sunday, June 14th from 12Noon until 2PM at Thomas-Justin Memorial, 7500 Montgomery Rd. (45236) Kenwood.
Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Monday, June 15th at 10AM at St. Columban Catholic Church, 894 Oakland Rd. (45140) Loveland.
Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
