Brother Robert Reinke, a member of the Brothers of the Poor of St. Francis for over sixty years, died on October 4, 2026. “Brother Bob” as many knew him, was born and raised in Chicago. He entered the Brotherhood in 1959 and pronounced his Final Vows in1965. He studied at Xavier University, Cincinnati and was involved in the Brothers ministries at Mount Alverno School, Cincinnati, Young House Services, Burlington IA, F.A.I.T.H. Services, and at St. Ann Church Hoboken, NJ. His leadership roles aided many at-risk youths and later, worked with the Franciscan Sisters of the Poor to assist those affected by AIDS. In his senior years he served as a pastoral minister at St. Ann’s.
Brother Bob is preceded in death by his parents John and Helen Reinke, and his passing is mourned by his brothers Ray Reinke, and David Kozack, several nieces and nephews, numerous friends and his fellow Brothers of the Poor.
His funeral Mass will be on Monday, October 12th at 10AM at St. Clare Convent Chapel, 60 Compton Rd., Cincinnati (45215), with burial at St. Joseph New Cemetery with his fellow Brothers.
