Ronald R., 76, passed away April 16th, 2012. He is pre-deceased by his wife, B\Beverly "Di-Anne" and his son, Scott. Mr. Rice was employed by the Kroger Company for 43 years, beginning his career as a plant foreman trainee and achieving the level of executive vice-president upon his retirement. He was a 1957 graduate of Purdue University and a recipient of an honorary doctorate degree from the same. In addition to being a wonderful father, grandfather and husband, he was also passionate about education, service on the Ringling College Board of Trustee and maintaining the Ronald R. Rice Scholarship in the Dept. of Food Science at Purdue University. Mr. Rice was also accomplished as a golfer, traveler and family historian. Survivors include his son, Brent of Mason, OH and Daughter in law Margie of Cincinnati, OH a sister Melba Holmgren of Plymouth, IN, two brothers Gene of Fort Wayne, IN and Frank Wilson of Indianapolis, IN, four grandchildren Aaron and Jason, Sean and Zachary. Visitation will be held on Friday, April 20th from 5-7PM at Thomas-Justin Memorial, 7500 Montgomery Rd. (45236). Funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 21st at 10:30AM at Armstrong Chapel UMC, at the corner of Drake and Indian Hill Rd in Indian Hill, OH (45243).
