ISAACS BUCKLEY
Ruth (nee Ownley) Isaacs Buckley.Blessed by her nearly 40-year marriage to her Norwood High School sweetheart Frederick T. Isaacs and her nearly 22 year marriage to her adoring husband William A. Buckley. Cherished mother of Dr.Timothy F. Isaacs of Santa Cruz, CA and Rev. Dr. Barbara R. Isaacs of Rockville, MD. Devoted grandmother of Emily (Erik Greensfelder) and Alison (Simon Jochems). Emily is a psychotherapist in Boulder, CO and Alison completed a Ph.D. in genetics and is at the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine in the U.K. The blessing of Bill’s love and family brought exceptional joy to her life “after 70.” Bill brought into Ruth’s family circle three sons Dan, Dave and Don and six daughters Diane Jackson, Debbie Imbus, Denise Bell, Peggy McRoberts, Trish Buckley, and Marie Coldwell. This new sacred chapter of family love in her life would be remarkable. Ruth was preceded in death this past Labor Day weekend by her precious sister Alice Young Andrews. The two Ownley sisters were inseparable. The stories of the Ownley sisters on Silver Street and Gatewood Lane are the foundation of family joy today. Ruth and Alice’s parents Tim and Irene (nee Weber) Ownley’s families in North Carolina and Michigan were sites of sacred homecomings for the Ownley sisters. Alice’s children Carole Broyles, Jack Young, Pam Kuhnell and Kent Young were very dear to Ruth. Ruth spoke of her deep love for Carol Giagnoni of Rockford, IL and gratefulness for her presence beside Barbara for so many years; and, her delight in the love Sally Jorgensen of Santa Cruz brought into Tim’s life. Special memory: Ruth served on the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra Women’s Committee during the early 1960s. She was honored to be in the $1,000 Club, members who sold over $1,000 worth of season tickets. Ruth’s Memorial Service will be on Sunday April 24 at 2:00 pm. It will be held at Armstrong Chapel United Methodist Church at the corner of Drake and Indian Hill Roads. In place of flowers, family would like to suggest donations be directed to one of these non-profit organizations: Inter Parish Ministry, 3509 Debolt Rd.
