Ruth Ann Mustain went home to be with the Lord on December 16, 2025, at the age of 94. She was born on September 6, 1931, at home on Ebenezer Road in Mack, Ohio. She attended St. Aloysius School until third grade. Her family moved to Grandview Avenue in Walnut Hills where her mother and father started a nursing home, Grandview Manor. Ruth Ann attended St. Francis De Sales until she graduated in 1945. She attended St. Mary’s High School in Hyde Park and graduated in 1949. In her freshman year she worked as a nurse aide and later as a bookkeeper at Grandview.
In 1948, she met Ralph Mustain. They married on October 14,1950 and moved to Hyde Park where they raised six children. In 1972, the family moved to in Kenwood and was a member of St. Vincent Ferrer Parish.
Ruth Ann was the matriarch of her family and was a source of strength and joy to those around her. She was devoted to her family and friends. She was often referred to as kind, loving, caring, creative, witty, tender-hearted, and young at heart.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 39 years Ralph Gordon Mustain, her loving daughter, Carol Ann Mustain Arvin, and her cherished brother, Donald Fay of Dayton, Ohio and sister, Mary Lee Passalacqua of Houston, Texas. She is survived by her beloved sister and brother-in-law, Naoma and Ernest Thomas of Cincinnati, her five children and spouses Donna Thompson, Gary Mustain, Larry and Jackie Mustain, Linda and Craig Ciolino, and Jerry and Joan Mustain. She is also survived by ten grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, one great-great-granddaughter, and many nieces and nephews.
The visitation will be held at Thomas-Justin Memorial, 7500 Montgomery Road on Saturday, December 27, 2025, from 9:15-10:15 am. The funeral service is to be held at St. Vincent Ferrer, Montgomery Rd., Kenwood, followed by a brief ceremony at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
For anyone who wishes to attend, there will be a luncheon at The Residence Inn by Mariott Kenwood, 7961 Kenwood Road, Cinti 45236 from 1:00–3:30 pm.
