BRONZE STAR

HONEBRINK

Thomas Hugh, dearly loved husband of the late Marilyn (nee Reardon) Honebrink, died on December 8, 2016, twelve days before his 91st birthday. He was preceded in death by his parents August and Ruth (nee Trimbur) Honebrink, siblings, Mary Jane, Ruth Finkbeiner, Gil, Jude, Rose Reinhart, and Jimmy. He leaves behind his children, Terri (Joe) Grein, Tina (Gary) Volz, Tom (Terry), Jayne (Paul) Jahn, and John; nine grandchildren, Chip, Sara, Adam, Bo, Annie, Shelly, Jimmy, Erin, and Johnny; five great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Tom graduated from Roger Bacon High School in 1944 and immediately enlisted in the Army. He served in the 47th Armored Infantry Division and after VE Day, he was transferred to the 5th Armored. He received the Bronze Star Medal for bravery for single-handedly taking out a German radio station that was broadcasting the Allies position. After the war, he worked for the Hudepohl Brewing Company, retiring as a VP at age 60 (we blame him for our drinking). Dad was a sweet, gentle man, beloved by all, with a smile that lit up the room. He suffered greatly from dementia and declining health in the past year, a fate this wonderful man should not have had to endure. Memorials may be sent to the Alois Alzheimer’s Center on 70 Damon Rd. (45218). Visitation will be held on Monday, December 12th from 5-8PM at Thomas-Justin Memorial, 7500 Montgomery Rd. (45236) Kenwood. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, December 13th at 10AM at St. John the Evangelist Parish, 7121 Plainfield Rd. (45236) Deer Park. Rest in peace Dad. You have earned it. Give Mom a hug from us. Love you always.
