SHOEMAKER
Willetta J. (nee Moran), beloved wife of the late William Shoemaker, cherished mother of Patty Brisben, Karen (Bob) Kontout and Gary (Tresa) Shoemaker, devoted grandmother of Chris, Nick, Matt, Lauren, Brandon, Kelli, Jessica, Jonathan, Nick and Michael. She is also survived by 20 great-grandchildren and her constant companion of over 30 years, Don Thompson. Willetta passed away on Tuesday, August 18th surrounded by her family. She was 80. Willetta was a cornerstone of her family. She retired from the Kroger Co. and always enjoyed working. She will be remembered for her fiery personality and her tenacity. Visitation will be held on Monday, August 24th from 4PM until the time of funeral service 6PM at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, 8645 Kenwood Rd. (45236). Interment will take place on Tuesday at 12Noon at Maysville-Mason County Cemetery in Maysville, KY. If desired, donations may be directed to the Lymphoma Research Foundation, 115 Broadway, Suite 1301, NY, NY (10006). She was grace under fire. She never complained. Every day she saw a positive side to being sick. She was also a person who gave constantly, thinking of others; and was a church going woman. She spoke with God and she knew she was going to a good place. One thing she instilled in everyone was strong work ethic. She said you can go after anything if you work hard for it. As someone with only a high school education, she spoke volumes to many. Her family will miss her.
