William "Bernard" Ward

January 14, 1935 — December 10, 2023

WARD

William Bernard Ward.(Bill) husband of the late Agnes Pauline for 69 years, cherished father of Patsy (Chuck) Johnson, the late Hank (Connie) Ward, Anita Ward and Stephen Ratliff, devoted grandmother of Stephanie (Aaron) Wood, Cara Meadows, Wyatt (Emily) Ward, Morgan Ward, Dylan Davidson and Dale Ward, loving great-grandfather of Brooke, Luke and Hugh Wood, Adrienne and Graham Wood, Ivan and Roman Meadows, Carson and Thomas John Ward and Lennox Margot Davidson.

He is also the loving Brother of Gerald (Judy) Ward and the late Arthur Ward, the late Eugene Ward, the late Imogene Blevins and Joan Belcher.

He leaves behind many nieces and nephews and numerous friends. Bill was born to the union of John Harvey Ward and Hannah Mullins Ward Bill was a Coal Miner, Worked as an Engineer for N&W Railway in his beloved state of West Virginia before moving to Norwood Ohio where he worked for General Motors until retirement in 1987 . After retirement Bill became a professional porch sitter and the guard of Maple Ave. Bill loved to roam the hills of his beloved West Virginia hometown leager.

Bill was a 32nd degree Mason at the Norwood Lodge he was also a member of the Cincinnati Railroad Club.Bill Absolutely loved his Trains he was an absolute expert on steam engines traveling out of West Virginia coal mine areas.

Bill was an avid Hunter and Fisherman.

Summertime with windows open all Bills neighbors knew he was watching train videos because vou could hear the whistle all the way to the end of the street. Bill departed our lives on December 10,2023 at the age of 88.

The Ward family would like to thank all of you, our family and our friends, who have helped us cope in this very difficult time.

A visitation will be held on The Thursday, December 14th 2023 from 11AM

until the time of funeral service, 1PM at Thomas-Justin Memorial, 7500 Montgomery Rd. (45236) Kenwood. Entombment will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Park.
